Hi lovely people, just a quick post to let you all know I am still here, unfortunately we are having internet issues that we are unable to get to the bottom of at the moment. In addition to this problem there is another with my laptop (yes in my quest to fix the first problem I created another!!!). I now have to have my laptop flattened and rebuilt, at this stage I am unsure how long this will all take but please stay with me. Lesson learnt - dont try and fix something you have no knowledge about!!!!
Hope to be back here soon!

Jewellery Love
I recently stumbled across a costume jewellery site on Instagram that I was initially dubious about until one of my favourite blogs had recently purchased a piece and I instantly thought well it must be ok if she is showcasing it-and good it is!!!!! Cheaper than Diva and Lovisa but equally on trend this is a site I will definitely be buying from again - 3 necklaces and 2 sets of earrings from under $40 - doesnt matter if they only last the summer. Here is just a couple of the things I bought - the other 2 are now sold out-will be sure to photograph when I wear them.
Be sure to check out http://withlovekirsten.com/shop-now they also stock alot of celebrity inspired jewellery and I am already eyeing off the Celine inspired choker.
In other news this week, I received my invitation for the Interior Design Information night at Tafe. This is something I have been wanting to do for a few years now but they only run it every 2 years - I am excited at the prospect of it but also this is where the self doubt creeps in-a lovely lady left a message on my blog that I love and I must keep it in the front of my mind at all times "Shoot for the moon, even if you miss you will land amongst the stars!" Thanks Lou I love it!!!
Have a great rest of the week

You CAN dress a bed with Op Shop pieces
You CAN dress a bed with Op Shop pieces
Yes indeed you can.
Our downstairs bedroom had become a dumping ground and I could stand it no longer so I decided to set myself a challenge to see if I could decorate using mainly recycled pieces. I do believe that good interiors evolve over time so it is definitely a work in progress. We originally had a double bed that guests (and husband at times lol) complained about their feet hanging over the edge, so we were lucky to acquire a queen size when we bought out Rough Diamond. We already had the queen size doona so first purchase was a plain white doona cover - actually very hard to find in op shops so I found one that had a white backing so just decided to flip it over.
I love the idea of mismatched cushions - I particularly love the blue and white print and at $1.50 really how can you go wrong. The colourful one is actually not an opshop one but at $8.00 from Target it is just as cheap. The middle cushion I am not totally happy with and it will be replaced when I can find the right one (ideally I think the contrast of a white fur would look fab here-what are my chances of finding that!).
Last week I was stoked to find this Country Road Woven blanket for a whole $5.50 - admittedly it had a few pulls, nothing that a bit of time and small scissors couldnt fix.
I stumbled across this quick little dipping DIY on Instagram and decided to do it on the 3 little bottles I picked up for $2 - I quite liked the uneven edges but I think next time I will use masking tape to make straight lines - this dipping could be done with absolutely anything - I would love to do it with some timber and white paint!
Just need to get some single stems to put in these.
As I said this is definitely a work in progress - and I will continue to see if I can do the whole room with recycled pieces - I think it adds so much more character. I would love to know what you think!
Have a fabulous Tuesday

Blog School Lesson 2 - Brainstorming Blog Ideas
Blog School Lesson 2 - Brainstorming Blog Ideas
Firstly welcome to my lovely new likers, thank you, you have absolutely made my day!!!
Thursday night saw Lesson 2 of JustB Blog School. Our homework was to brainstorm ideas for future posts. So pen and my beautiful blog book in hand I went about jotting down all the ideas that I have for this space (gee it felt good to get them out of my head). I wrote down everything that came to mind and then categorised them in to the following;
All things Op Shopping
This was primarily the reason for my blog to share all my fabulous finds, posts in this category would include, my tips for opshopping, designer labels to look out for when opshopping, doing an opshop shop focus, of course sharing my opshop finds, upcycling and DIY with opshop pieces, and sharing upcycling inspiration.
Fashion and Beauty
As a lover of both of these it wouldnt be right without this category! Posts would include what I wore, online finds, purchases, my beauty bag, product reviews.
Favourite Blogs
This is where it all started for me - Table Tonic was my very first blog I started following so I would love to share all the blogs I love checking into regularly.
In and Around My Home
This is as it sounds, and includes our newly planted veggie patch! This would also cross over into another favourite category;
Interiors
This really does make my heart sing. I am planning on doing an Interior Design Course next year through the local Tafe and would love to share what I learn on here! Also I would share Interior inspiration I love, Interior books I love (may have purchased one today!!!), online Interior stores, and of course much more.
So there it is - not sure at this stage if there will be a designated day eg Fashion Friday for each category - will need to give that a bit more thought. I would love to know what you all think and please if there are any ideas you think I could use please let me know.
Have a fabulous Sunday

Off to Blog School
Off to Blog School
Hello lovely people, hope you are all having a fabulous week so far! I think Pip Lincolne of Meet me at Mikes must have known I was struggling a bit with this blogging caper as she has started a blog school called JustB Blog School. It is a fantastic site where bloggers of all capabilities can come and ask questions, share tips and get lessons on blogging in general. Lesson One was 5 questions which I have never really asked myself but probably should have before I started blogging. I thought I would share my lesson 1 answers with you all!
I am thankful to Pip for starting this school - it is comforting to know there is a place I can go and ask stupid questions without judgement (well hopefully lol) and also get some knowledge I can use on this blogging journey.
Look out Flickr, Linkedin, Feedburner I am all over you!!!!!!! (well maybe not yet)
Enjoy your week.

Sass & Bide, Yoga and other loves this week!
Sass & Bide, Yoga and other loves this week!
Hello lovely friends, hope you are all having a fabulous week! Here are a few bits and pieces of my week so far.
I eagerly awaited the arrival of the TNT van today delivering my new Havaiana's - they are a special edition collaboration with Sass & Bide. Admittedly it is a bit extravagant paying $50 for a pair of thongs, but hey, how can you go wrong with black, leopard and the famous gold star and I think cost per wear will be quite low seeing as my poor old bunion feet will be living in these this summer. You can find them here!
http://www.sassandbide.com/eboutique/accoutrement/havianas.html
Tonight I finally returned to yoga and I realised just how much I have missed it and need it! I have done a few forms of yoga over the years with the most recent form being flow with the beautiful Miss Em. I started with Iyengar which I loved - this style gives you a great foundation and it is a very detailed form, you start with a basic class and then when the instructors feel you are ready you progress to the next level, I did particularly like the challenge of head stands, shoulder stands and hand stands. I also tried Bikram last year which I also enjoyed but this is more a workout style of yoga and not so much relaxing - old stress head here really needs relaxing and this is why Miss Ems is the perfect style for me at the moment. I love the feeling of calm that comes over me during and after yoga - the challenge is to try and get that to carry over into everyday life!!!!!
I discovered this gorgeous garland a while back and decided I would make one with the tissue paper I picked up at the op shop. Would you believe the hardest part for me was step 1 (tutorial I used is here), which way to fold the paper first lol - I have only done a few as they are quite time consuming, I have done white so far and I think I will add a metalic and possibly a pink - thought this would be fun for Miss C's bedroom - funny enough the kids rooms are the only rooms I feel comfortable adding colour!
Thought I would share with you my Ikea fluff and how I styled it. A dear friend picked it up for me in Melbourne - in time I would love to update the chair to an Eames rocker but this will be suffice for now (especially as the chair cost me nix). I picked up the cushion at Big W last week for $9.00 - I just need to find a storage solution for all those Real Living mags sitting underneath!!!!
In case you were all wondering I haven't had much luck at the op shops recently - hence the lack of blog posts on this topic. I visited a couple today and even willed myself before I went in to find a hidden gem (you know like what they mention in the book The Secret - if you put it out there then it comes back to you) unfortunately it didn't work on this occasion!!!
Bring on next week - Pink tickets go on sale!!!! Tell me who is going?
Bye for now

The Preparations Begin!
The Preparations Begin
Firstly I will allow you time to pick yourself up off the floor - I know it has been nearly a month since my last post. Just when I have grand plans to increase my number of posts something happens to throw me off course-I have had a bad run with sickness the last few months (nothing horrible just the flu and 2 head colds in 3 months) and unfortunately my desire to blog goes out the window. Anyway I am not going to place any great expectations on myself or comitt to a certain number of posts but I do hope to be here more than I have!!!
As most of you know this Saturday is the Be Her Freedom High Tea Fundraiser and the preparations have officially began. Legs waxed, fake tan booked, blow dry booked, dress borrowed, toe nails painted. Just on the toe nails I have had a little fling with O.P.I the last 2 days and have purchased 4 of them-in case you Eastern Shore girls don't know, Hair Warehouse has started stocking O.P.I (admittedly not quite the selection Myer Melbourne has!) but none the less a good selection and at a reduced price - $17 each or 2 for $30. Here are the 4 I purchased - initially they were all going to be for presents (October is birthday month) but after testing them all out (of course you need to do this with gifts) I have decided Gargantuan Green Grape is a keeper-a gorgeous mint green, what do you think?
Tonight I read a great article by Zoe Foster on the Mamamia site - in case you don't know Zoe is Hamish Blakes fiance and is a writer and ex beauty editor. She bought out the most awesome book last year which is my bible - Amazing Face. This is a great book for yourself or a gift for a girlfriend. Anyway have a look here at this weeks post - 5 beauty rituals that look better on day 2- I felt like she was talking directly to me - I particularly can relate to the professional blow dry - I have already organised to have my hair for Saturday night blow dryed on Friday night! Let me know if you can relate to any of these. Unfortunately Zoe doesn't disclose how to disguise a large bruise on the shin caused by a catapulting bottle of lemonade - thats another story all together!
Hopefully will be back soon!

Yippee I am on Holidays!
Yippee I am on Holidays!
Now I am getting excited - after being back at work for 15 months I am finally taking my first lot of annual leave - to be honest only working 10 hours a week I haven't really felt a need to take it - but that said I am really looking forward to the next 2 weeks. Of course it is School holidays in Tassie and like most of Hobart we are heading to the Gold Coast with friends. This is honestly no exaggeration I reckon half of the girls school is going-we have already arranged a day at Seaworld with another family plus us.
I thought I would share with you my week of preparations for our trip - I am sure you can all relate to them (well most of you women would) hahahahaha
Anyhow I will be on instagram whilst away (plug) you can follow me on whatihavemet but I wont be blogging until I get back. I am really really really going to try hard to relax (yep I know my sister would be laughing right now), not keep track of time too much and just stop-my mum often tells me I will catch myself coming back so this relaxing caper will be a bit of a challenge.
Happy School Holidays to those on them and I will see you all soon.

- As you all know there are no chemists on the GC (tongue in cheek) so I have done the chemist run to get supplies-this has driven Phillip nuts as I have had it all out on the kitchen bench-just the usual, bandaids, medicines, itchy bite cream, ear plugs, wipes, kids tissue packs and the list goes on.
- Trip to the doctor to get the Travel Plan to take Jaz's epipen on the plane-not sure if this is still needed but didn't want to chance it.
- Getting all the washing and ironing up to date - because we are going to need school uniforms and winter clothes in Qld!!!!!!!!!
- Running the pantry and fridge dry - can't have too much left in the house when we are away
- Being dehaired - oh christ I am not looking forward to baring my fluoro skin - I know neon is in but not my type of neon hahahha
- And probably doing the most important job of all - GETTING THE HOUSE JUST ABOUT SPRING CLEANED because you know everything has to be perfect when you are not actually even there to enjoy it.
Anyhow I will be on instagram whilst away (plug) you can follow me on whatihavemet but I wont be blogging until I get back. Happy Fathers Day - The Day That Was
Happy Fathers Day - The Day That Was!
Happy Fathers Day Big Tez/Poppy Terry, My Dad. I know you pop by sometime to look at my blog and I hope that you see this. You are the best dad and poppy, always there for us - drop everthing to come and help us when we need - and you are a legend!
Guess who is Poppys girl? She loved him coming to kinder last week!
We celebrated Fathers Day with lunch at my sisters. Phillip did his usual and fired the kids up as soon as we arrived (my sister loves it when we visit-well when Phillip visits), but the kids got their revenge when uncle Pippys trousers split-yep bum to bollocks hahahahaha. Fortunately he did see the funny side although they were his favourites. My poor mum I think has been scarred.
Over lunch we discussed everything from same sex marriage to what sort of music dad would like played at his funeral-yep I know you are all wondering-Sitting at the Dock of a Bay, he did make mention not to have Highway to Hell!
As most of you would know my BIL is a Professional Photographer so we took the opportunity to have some photos taken-yes sneaky nut and all made an appearance lol. I will share these as soon as Andrew as photo shopped them. It is rather ironic though, this photo was taken by Phillip on my phone and I love it - definitely going to frame it
My sister, my best friend.
Heres me getting my neon on today - note to self - remove tag off scarf in future. Funny enough this scarf is/was for my beautiful god daughter Charlotte-I actually quite liked the contrast of the fine flower print against the neon stripes-I will be getting her another one and also a couple of these for the girls - $9.95 cheap as chips!
Whilst on the subject of dads, I have asked mine to make me a pallet table for the girls to use for their lego - I actually did mention perhaps I could get a lesson in how to use a power tool - didn't get an overly enthusiastic response from my sister in particular - who recalled how fabulous I was with a sewing machine-I swear I was intending to make a single sheet not a queen sheet at our Adult Ed course bahahaha.
I hope you all had a fabulous day today - especially all the dads.
See you all soon

Look at What I Found Today
Look at What I Found Today
Hello lovely people, hope you are all still there - its been a busy couple of weeks - no excuse though really!
Well today has been a fabulous day all round. It started with Grandparents Day at School - the kids really look forward to this every year - there chance to show nanny and poppy what they do - unfortunately 3 of our grandparents had doctors appointments so it was up to my dad and myself to share ourselves, it was so wonderful to see so many grandparents there. We really are so lucky at our School - such a fabulous little community.
After then sorting out the Book Week Costume (note to self don't leave it to the last minute next time) I decided to head down the Southern Outlet (with windows down and music blaring) to visit Lifeline Chosen Pieces - and gee aren't I glad I did! The difference with Lifeline is that they are paid employees as opposed to volunteers at most of the others. They take a lot of pride in what they put out and at the sorting depot in town they generally despatch their designer and high end pieces to Kingston first. Take a look at what set my heart a racing today!!!
This divine little One Red Fly dress is from Summer 2010. I absolutely loved it then but at $130 couldn't realise justify it - I think you will agree it is $10 well spent today - and did I mention it looks brand spankers!
I picked us this gorgeous Gorman camisole for myself for $8. I am thinking I will wear it with a touch of neon underneath. You can check out Gorman here
I got this Mimco scarf for Miss 7 which she loves - looks like she is going to follow in mums footsteps - my favourite accessory! If you are not familiar with Mimco check them out here fab statement accessories and not to mention gorgeous shoes.
I couldn't go past these cute little daisy studs for $2.
When I stopped in Sandy Bay this afternoon I also popped in to Pink and picked up these 3 snake bracelets for $12 total - I am loving the pink & gold combo. Kiss Life wrap bracelet is by Sass & Bide.
I also made a visit to my favourite childrens store Forget Me Not in the quest to find some bathers for the girls before we head away. Unfortunately new season stock has not dropped yet but I did manage to find Miss 4 a pair from last season that I knew she would love- floral & ruffles!! I actually didn't realise Jets by Jessike Allen did childrens as well, cannot wait to see what they offer for Summer 2012/13.
This afternoon I also decided to get hubby an early Fathers Day present (and added bonus I can use it too). We have both been wanting a Garmin for a while now so today on a whim I decided to get it for him, and those that know me know that I love to give presents straight away-I am hopeless at waiting (yes I know J you are nodding your head at me!). The Running Edge really do know their stuff and the lovely guy also gave me the name of a site that hubby might like - Strava, it is a running and cycling GPS tracker, you can track all your runs and rides, set personal records and beat your friends' times. Enter virtual competitions, climb the leaderboards, create and join clubs. Sounds like a great motivational site also.
Today really was a simple but simply wonderful day. I realise how blessed and lucky I am. With that in mind I decided to start again discussing as a family what we are grateful for - we did this about 6 months ago but didn't carry on with it. I know Miss 7 gets the concept but unsure of Miss 4 - her reply was "I am grateful for daddy doing pop offs" Miss 4 I'm not!! And on that note see you soon.

Our Rough Diamond!
As some of you lovely followers would know we recently bought an investment property. From the very first inspection I got excited as I could see how much potential this place has and it has always been a dream of mine to renovate a property (I know some of you who have already done this will tell me I am crazzzzzy!). Anyway at this stage it is just some fairly minor cosmetic changes we need to make in order to get it ready for our tenants. I thought I would share with you our beautiful mess as it is at the moment with doors off, walls stripped, curtains down and basically crap everywhere as we wait for our garage sale.
The view!!!
Work in progress bedroom 2- basically just requires a coat of paint and carpet cleaned
Bathroom - plans are to remove the carpet, paint (obviously) and tiles around the vanity
Hallway, again a repaint and carpet clean
Our biggest challenge - at this stage we are not going to put in a new kitchen so just doing a few tweeks, remove some shelving, changing the oven configuration, new flooring and of course a paint job!
Dining/family room - this part of the house is in good condition, basically just needs a fresh coat of paint and the carpet cleaned
This room is magic when the sun is shining - hence why it has an automatic shutter-will get very hot in summer!
Large living/lounge room - again just a fresh coat of paint and removing those hideous light fittings off the wall!
Great backyard for kids (and future renovations - we can already visualise this space)
View from the master bedroom-lovely waking up to that each day.
Hopefully the painting will start in the next week or so - the kitchen will be all white and the rest of the house will have white ceilings with Dulux Pebble Bay walls.
While we are on the home front my favourite online mag is out - you can view Adore Home Magazine here I love looking at magazines online but in my view they can never replace traditional magazines!
Have a lovely Tuesday

My Personal Guide to Op Shopping!
One of the most common questions I get asked about op shopping is "how do you find all these fabulous things" so I thought I would share with you my own guide to how I op shop.
Goodnight
Mel xx
One of the most common questions I get asked about op shopping is "how do you find all these fabulous things" so I thought I would share with you my own guide to how I op shop.
- Before you start the most important thing is to open your mind and leave any snobbery or pretence at the door, op shops are not like they used to be and it has become very fashionable to op shop.
- I personally am a label shopper and flick through the racks looking firstly at the label-I generally look for designer labels (yep all those mag reading days have served me well - I call it research). If I see a label I like then that is when I generally have a good look at the piece-you can imagine my excitement when I stumble upon a Sass & Bide label, and I do!
- Inspect really carefully any pieces before buying - yes I have been caught out on this one a few times. I am really fortunate that my mum is a brilliant sewer, so missing buttons, hems down I know she can fix these easily. Stains can be tricky also - grease and oil stains are really hard to get out so I generally leave these pieces. Remember to check zips also - these can be really expensive to get fixed-so no matter how much of a bargain it is, it won't be if you need to have it professionally repaired.
- Be sure to check out those accessory bins - I have picked up some amazing designer bags and scarves. Be sure to smell handbags-if they smell musty or of cigarette smoke then leave them where they are - no amount of airing will fix these.
- Give yourself plenty of time - there are bargains to be had but it does take time and patience. Don't feel disappointed if you come away with nothing, this happens to me alot - I think this makes the times when you do score a fab find that much sweeter. The old thrill of the hunt!!
- Don't limit yourself to just clothing, check out homewares/books and toys - most op shops have a huge bookcase full of books. I have found some gorgeous vintage homewares - I love the character they add to my home.
- Make sure you wash all items before wearing - I also add a little disinifectant to the wash as well.
- Finally if you find a favourite shop and visit regularly - get to know the volunteers, if you are looking for something in particular they can keep an eye out for it for you. You will also notice if you visit regularly which days they put out new stock - some stores will tell you which days if you are lucky.
- MOST IMPORTANTLY HAVE FUN - its just stuff!!!
Goodnight

I'M BACK!
HELLOOOOOOOOOO, it feels as though it has been forever since I blogged, and what a few weeks it has been. My last post I had a sick little poppet and of course it was inevitable I was going to end up with it-and that I did, and of course if would be when hubbie was away. I can honestly say it is only now after 3 weeks that I feel back to my old self-I know I am not alone, I think half of Australia has had the dreaded flu-and I mean the flu not a cold!!!!! I will be the first one in line next year for the flu shot as I don't ever want to feel like that again.
Anyway I discovered a few things while I was not well and here they are;
Some of you observant little people may have noticed my new blog header-Katrina from the block did a brilliant little tutorial showing how to use PicMonkey, you can find it here. I have challenged myself to learn one new thing each week in this blogging journey!

I will be the first one in line next year for the flu shot as I don't ever want to feel like that again.
Anyway I discovered a few things while I was not well and here they are;
- I am definitely in a cooking rut - after watching the cooking shows on TV I realised I am very predictable with my meals, you know the red meat Monday, fish Tuesday, soup Wednesday - I can always remember growing up how predictable our menu was (sorry mum). I am not sure how I have ended up like this-I could blame it on the girls multiple allergies (chicken in particular) but I think it just comes down to lack of planning. Look out google mince meat recipe here I come!!
- I need to make more of an effort with the girls hair of a morning. This hit home when p2 came home from school with a beautiful inside out braid that her beautiful teacher had done-I know she would not have wanted me to feel like. I did ask P2 if she carried on a treat when Mrs J did her hair, like she does for me - of course we all know the answer to that question.
- Shawn the Sheep on ABC for kids is really funny! I have never really watched it before, it is very clever
- NEVER EVER make an online purchase when you are not well-very bad choice. I thought I would get on board the neon trend with a pair of multi coloured high tops - someone please humour me and tell me you have done the same as I did. I originally wanted the gold ones which I blogged about here. When I had a look at the neon pair I noticed they were sold out in every size except mine as opposed to the gold ones which had multiple stock-my rationale the neons must be awesome as they were nearly sold out-I must get those before they all go-yep and that was the big mistake.
- My personal guide as to how I Op Shop
- Labels to look out for when Op Shopping
- A focus on a particular Op Shop each week
- My fabulous finds

Sickness, Shopping & Squeezing
Hello my lovely followers. Firstly I would just like to say a HUGE thankyou to those who have been encouraging me with your lovely comments-I love getting feedback, good, bad or otherwise.
Well just when I had planned to pick up the blogging game, illness hits. Poor little P1 came down sick at school on Tuesday with a nasty virus and has had the rest of the week off school. This has however forced me to STOP, which has been a good thing. Here is how I have spent my quiet week mostly at home.
Wednesday we did venture out to do a chemist run, fortunately I was only in the driveway when I ended up looking like this
I really do need to find a suitable home in my bag for my teabags.
This short trip didn't end too well with P1 vomitting in daddys car (mine was in for a service), shame that!!!!
Thursday I had both P's at home as the kinder week had finished. I had a window of 4 hours while the nurofen was still in her system so we decided to head out to Northgate to Target to get some presents for some upcoming birthdays. While we were there I ducked in to Coles to check out the Mix range of clothing-must say I was pleasantly surprised - I did purchase a cream shirt and will do an outfit post on it next week. You can check out Mix here, unfortunately the shirt I bought has sold out online so you are unable to view it!
Today was a quiet one again. We headed up to pick up my free range eggs I order every Friday from the Church Op Shop. While in Bellerive we popped in to the Salvos and I picked up these vintage cross stitch ballerina's for P1's bedroom-I had fun this afternoon styling up the top of her desk - yep I will be lucky if it lasts until the morning!!
I was checking out facebook this afternoon when I came across this post, I had never thought about freezing lemon juice or zest, turns out our new place has a massive lemon tree so with my fruit basket full I decided to freeze away. This is another citrus idea I fell in love with also but lets just say after numerous attempts I had to admit defeat.
I have also been trying to do Sarah Wilson's I Quit Sugar Program (find it here). I must admit this is attempt 3. I am not doing it for any other reason than to break my sugar addiction and to see if I do feel better without the sweet stuff. Sarah recommends using Natvia (100% natural sweetener) initially while weaning off the sugar. I gave it a go this afternoon with some natural Greek yoghurt and it was divine-would be even better with some blueberries/raspberries and almonds added. I did also omit the sugar from these donna hay muffins and added some natvia instead - the kids loved them!
Not sure why my husband thinks I am a messy cook!!!
So there it is the week that was! Have a fabulous weekend.

Latest Loves & Mini Facebook Sale
I thought I would share with you my latest loves!
You can find these awesome sneakers here
This is how I would love to wear them when the weather warms up (minus the white jeans!)
You all know my love for Sass & Bide, their latest offering Sing Brother Sing does not disappoint at all!
The earrings would have to be my fav. I wonder how many comments I would get though telling me my earrings don't match!
I have decided to do a mini facebook sale tomorrow night. I have a few womens pieces (Country Road, Jac & Jack, Firetrap) and a few childrens pieces also (Fred Bare, Country Road, Jack & Milly). To be fair to all it will be first in best dressed!
See you all tomorrow

The Weekend That Was - What I Wore, Ate & Did!
Hope you all had a fabulous weekend! I kicked off my weekend on Friday night with a small surprise dinner for a dear friend. Her husband had arranged for a chef to come in to their home and cater for dinner for a small group of her closest friends. To say the least the food was AMAZING and honestly I think there were approximately 142 courses - well maybe 6 or 7 not including appetisers!
Beautiful Bday girl with her equally beautiful cake from here - this is where my I Quit Sugar Campaign went dramatically down hill!
Remember I blogged about my fabulous Sass & Bide Op Shop Find, well here they are - sorry photo quality a little poor

My absolute favourite part of these jeans is the hook and eye at the back - fully functioning so you could change it up by leaving some partially undone! In case you are wondering the top underneath is from Maurie & Eve and the jacket is another Op Shop Find - it is by great Sydney label Minty Meets Munts it has definitely had $15 worth of wear already. The shoes are from Betts - becuase the jeans are a bit rock chic I decided to go with a ladylike heel - I love the whole juxtaposition concept!
Well here is a contrast:
This is how I spent most of Sunday - yep I think I got the WORST job ever! We have bought another property as an investment and it is in need of some TLC - I don't even want to think of all the other walls there is to do. Please if anyone has some tips on quick, effective wallpaper removal please share.
No need to do an outfit post on this one I think.
BTW I haven't forgotten about my Jewellery challenge, I will be back on to that one this week. In addition I am also doing http://theinteriorsaddict.com/interiors-photo-month-on-instagram-wanna-play-heres-how. As you know I now have come of age and got a smart phone - so I am going to dip my toes in Instagram - I will share my photos with you as I go!
Have a fabulous Tuesday!

My Sass & Bide Op Shop Find
Hi all, apologies again for it being a little quiet on the blog front this week! I thought I would do a quick post tonight on my fabulous op shop find yesterday. I timed my visit to Vinnies perfectly yesterday-they have a Designer rack that only comes out when they have sufficient stock to fill it - this could mean it is months in between. I knew yesterday that that delightful rack had not been out long when I spied in my size, Sass & Bide The New Grace jeans-unfortunately it is hard to find an image as they were from the SS2009 range - I intend on wearing them tomorrow night so I will be sure to post a pic! And did I mention the cost - yes $20 and so worth every one of those 20!!!
When I find such pieces as these I often think who would donate these in the first place - my friend came up with a great story for these - the boyfriend was cleaning out his ex's clothes - and I am so glad he did.
For those of you who love S & B as much as I do take a peek below at Heidi Middletons house - AMAZING!

See you all soon - I promise to pick up the blogging game next week!
Mel xx
PS I hope you are all seated - I FINALLY have come of age and got a smart phone (with much guidance from my husband). Look out Twitter, Instagram I will be all over you-just need to learn how!!!!!!

Girls Roadie Weekend
As some of you already know, yesterday was my dear sisters 40th birthday and her bestie started planning for this milestone months ago. I can honestly say it was one of the best weekends I have ever had and not because of all the bells and whistles but because of the simplest and best things in life - WONDERFUL FRIENDS! As it was mentioned many times over the weekend (interspersed with ample sledging) it does not matter where you are or what you are doing, but who you are with. I thought I would share the weekend that was with you all!!
It started with us all (6 girls in total) meeting at my sisters at 10 - and yes I had the job of packing the bag! Thanks Kate for reminding me we were limited to time - I was busy trying to coordinate a couple of outfits - which I clearly failed at, more about that later!!! Packing the underwear was a challenge-I was set up big time and I think I shut down at that point when I opened the top drawer - I can still see one of the girls rolling on the bed in fits of laughter.
Bag packed we headed for the soccer ground where my sister was watching her son play soccer. I knew Lis didn't have any idea about the planned weekend, and this was confirmed with her reaction when her bestie just sidled up next to her - WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!!! When she realised we were all there and dressed appropriately for a lovely afternoon - she said something that only everyone would expect to come out of my mouth, "I WANT TO GO HOME AND GET CHANGED" really though Lis that polarfleece was fine LOL
We hit the road and Lis just went with it - polarfleece and all.
Party Bus - and no I am not making a fashion statement with the lopsided hat!
Yep this is the reaction when she saw us!
As all Hobart people know, no trip to Launceston is complete without the halfway stop at Zeps in Campbell Town.
We arrived in Launceston mid afternoon and we were able to check in to our extremely busy hotel as soon as we arrived. Our first view of the hotel was the Mortgagee For Sale Sign-but hey lets not judge a book by its cover. Here is us checking in for our doctors appointment, um sorry our nights stay!
and as we suspected - computer is just for looks
I can honestly say though, I would stay here again - this place has so much character, it really was like staying in someones lounge room, and as I said before it really does not matter where you are but who you are with! Also if we had of stayed in a flash Penthouse as originally planned we would have missed out on all the laughs at this old beauties expense!
This is where we discovered my epic fail at packing Lis bag - I think I lost my focus after I opened the underwear drawer.
Quick stop at the Mart - and let it be known I can do a quick shop - 7 mins to be precise - mission accomplished! Unfortunately the polarfleece didn't quite cut it for our next stop!
This was our ladylike part of the day - High Tea at the Grand Chancellor, gee it was good - and yes shock horror I had a champa's!
The highlight of the weekend for me was Saturday night - we stayed in and watched Bridesmaids, ate, drank, ate, ate and ate some more all snuggled up in our retro apartment - I can honestly say I have never laughed so much-the sledging was brilliant!
Sunday morning we were booked in for breakfast at the Casino, flowers and balloons waiting for Lis on the table from her gorgeous bestie. But really Kate did you need to have that much pepper on your scrambled eggs?
Yes it was these simple things that had us in fits of laughter.
We headed home late morning - this is where Lis got a little emotional - all our families were at her house for lunch/afternoon tea to celebrate this beautiful girls actual birthday.
My dear sister you deserved every minute of this wonderful weekend, I am so blessed to have you as my sister and to the other 4 girls, I treasure your friendship very much, now who's birthday is next????
Hope you all had as great a weekend as I did.
